If
you remove the gases and water from the human body, almost half of
what remains
is calcium. This fact alone gives us some idea of just how important calcium
may be to our health.
No other mineral
performs as many biological functions as calcium does
and it's involved
in nearly Every function. Some of the essential ones
are:
-
provides the electrical
energy for the heart to beat and for all muscle movement.
-
the calcium ion
is responsible for feeding every cell
-
DNA replication,the
basis for all body repair, can only occur on a substrate of calcium. Thus,
low calcium means low body repair and premature aging.
As important as
all these and hundreds of other biological functions of calcium are to
human health, none is more important than the job of pH control. Thus,
the more calcium, the more oxygen, and therefore,
the less cancer
and other degenerative disease. (We've already discussed the importance
of pH and oxygen in the intro to this sectionand won't repeat that discussion
here.)
The scientific
evidence that calcium is the key to good and long health is now overwhelming.
Examining the diet of millions of people around
the world
who consume over 100 times our Recommended Daily Allowance, revealed that
they live 40 years longer than we do and are devoid of cancer, heart disease,
mental disorders, diabetes, arthritis and all other degenerative diseases.
However, all
but one of these cultures live at extremely high altitudes
and get their
calcium from glacial water there, something not available
to the rest
of us. Over the years, we've been advised to take ground up
rocks, pulverized
bones and a host of other supplements that turned out
to be poorly
assimilated by the body. I've only seen clinical evidence
for two forms
that have shown the ability to actually reverse osteoporosis
Since one of
those is very difficult to find, we'll direct our attention
to the other,
which is being widely promoted everywhere today, although
often bundled
with misinformation and outright false claims. It's also the
source of
longevity and health for the one culture that did not get their
calcium from
glacial water.
This calcium
comes from Okinawa, islands made of coral reefs which are
mainly calcium,
where the average life expectancy of 105 years, while
mainland Japan
is just 77 years. The resulting product has, hence, been
dubbed "Coral
Calcium", but sadly, this label has been applied to a range
of products
that are not by any means identical. (for an honest an accurate explanation
of the realities, click
here and read the article entitled "Would you like a little Sand
with your Coral?" at the top of the page).
I did a lot
of research on this before feeling comfortable about making
any recommendations,
as the hype flying around this was full of conflicting information. My
own conclusions were supported by two additional factors.
Shortly after
doing the research, I received an email from the CEO of a
very high-integrity
supplement firm, in which he described his own research for a source of
calcium to add to his company's product line. He came to the exact same
conclusions that I had, which I found somewhat gratifying.
The second
factor was that a watch dog group that monitors the coral calcium market
(yes, the hype has gotten to the point of warranting watch dogs) chose
the same product to receive their highest rating for both quality and price.
As a result
of those two factors, plus my own research, here is the only
"Coral Calcium"
product I feel I can recommend without reservations. Please do your own
research and check it out for yourself. I'm sure you'll come up with the
same result. There's no MLM involved here, so you won't "get rich by next
week", but you will get the health benefits
you're seeking.
